Downtempo Guitar 2 is an inspiring collection of funk-influenced, downtempo guitar performances and part of our Instrument Series for Elastik. It provides the perfect inspiration to bring a funky flavour to your next production and is suitable for a range of downtempo styles including Jazz, Soul, Funk, Hip Hop, Lounge, RnB and LoFi Styles.
The library contains 2.3 GB of samples, with 236 unique loops and phrases. Each phrase is 8 bars or up to 30 seconds in length and the original recording tempos range from 60 to 90 BPM. The phrases are arranged into 47 performance-based folders with five full 8 bar phrases in each folder. The five phrases are organized in an identical fashion within each folder providing:
1: a chord part with sustained chords
2: a chord part played rhythmically
3: a single note melodic line
4: a single note melodic variation played on lower notes
5: an improvised solo style line
These phrases can easily to combined to build a full-length guitar part. Elastik's excellent time-stretching and pitch-shifting features also let you mix and match phrases between folders, or adapted tempo and pitch to fit within an existing musical project.
Like with all of our products, audio has been recorded in a 24-bit, 44.1kHz format. The phrases are provided in two variants. In the Dry Soundbank, DI recordings provide maximum flexibility, allowing you to add your own amp modelling and effects choices. The FX Soundbank offers the same phrases but with FX already applied, including reverbs, delay, overdrive, wahwah, and various modulation effects such as phaser and chorus. The FX versions can therefore be used instantly within a mix, but the processing is kept light so that further effects can be added to taste.
Downtempo Guitar 2 will happily sit alongside the original Downtempo Guitar library. It will also complement our Upright Bass 2, Tenor Saxophone and Mute Trumpet libraries. Downtempo Guitar 2 is ideal for both producers and composers looking to inspire their next chilled-out, funk-flavoured, musical project.
